danya solomon
Danya Solomon was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and began acting at a young age. Studying with Joseph Piazza, she performed in over many productions under his direction, including "The Seagull", "Antigone"and "Dancing At Lughnasa". Danya attended the Young Conservatory at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco and was fortunate to study with Craig Slaight. At ACT, she performed the title role in the New Play Production of "Analiese" by Lynn Alvarez and in "The Cripple of Inishmaan". Danya graduated from the UCLA School of Theater with a Bachelor of Arts degree, having played in over 24 productions, and was awarded the Natalie Wood Acting Award in 2001. In 2002, Danya was a representative actor for the Medieval & Rennaisance World Conference. Since graduating from UCLA, she has performed on numerous stages including; A Noise Within as Juliet in "Measure for Measure", Elise in "The Miser", Minnie Faye in "The Matchmaker", and Valeria in "Coriolanus". And most recently as Rose in "Dancing at Lughnasa" with The Bay Ensemble, the Bay Area's new professional theater company with which Danya serves as artistic director. Film work includes: THIS IS NOT MY BEAUTIFUL LIFE, THREE MAIDS and SLEEPY TIME GAL. Danya can be seen on television as a series regular on Marilu Henner's new show on the Discovery Channel.
In 2003 Danya joined W&C and tours California playing in "Robin Hood", "Midsummer Night's Dream," "The Odyssey," and "Romeo and Juliet." For the mainstage she was recently seen in "Don Quixote" (2005). Danya joined the National touring production of "Not Without Right" in 2005.
