Stephan left a career in the military for a life in the theatre. Since leaving the Army as an Infantry officer, he has: received his MFA, in theatre, from Trinity Rep Conservatory; created and directed the military segments for Twyla Tharp/Billy Joel’s Tony-award winning Broadway musical “Movin’ Out”; created the largest touring Shakespeare Company in New England; and taught acting and Shakespeare at Cornell University. Stephan has been a member of Trinity Rep. Company, Uprising Theatre, Tony Plana’s East LA Classical Theatre Company and performs with Native Voices at the Autry. His favorite roles performed include: Richard III, “Richard III”; Petruchio, “Taming of the Shrew”; Antony, “Antony and Cleopatra”; Cassius, “Julius Caesar”; Mercutio, “Romeo & Juliet”; Henry Higgins, “My Fair Lady” and Clifford, “Sideman”. Stephan is currently finalizing plans for his National Veteran’s Arts Project.

For Will & Company played Banquo in "Macbeth" in 2005, and John Spong in "A Pebble In My Shoe: The Life & Times of John Shelby Spong".
