Kristina Wong is a nationally presented solo performer, writer, filmmaker, activist, educator and actor.  She tours in Will & Company’s “American Voices” as well as her own original solo performance work. Noted for her quirky, culture-jamming, subversive style, Kristina takes an offbeat approach to politics and activism that upstages the strangeness of our times. She is the recipient of The PEN Emerging Voices Fellowship, a Durfee ARC Award, an Artist-in-Residence Grant from the City of Los Angeles, the O’Conner Scholar Award, the Visual Communications Armed with a Camera Fellowship, a small performance commission from the Mark Taper Forum’s Asian Theater Workshop, a Hothouse residency from UCLA, and was selected as an American delegate in Korea’s Multi-Cultural Leadership Korea Visitation Program. Her new show, “Wong Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” premieres as part of La Pena Cultural Center’s Community Action Series in December 2006, funded by a grant from the NEA.  More at www.kristinawong.com
