The Laws of Evolution

1633 - The Trial of Galileo - Galileo was put on trial for the content of his 500-page work Dialogue, a story of three Italian Gentlemen that argue for a Copernican theory of the Universe.

1925 - "Scopes Monkey" Trial - Prohibited the teaching of evolution in public schools.

1968 - Epperson v. Arkansas - Allows the theory of evolution to be taught in public schools.

1987 - Edwards v. Aguillard - The Supreme Court ruled that Louisiana's "Creation Act", which stated that any school that teaches evolution must also teach biblical creationism, was unconstitutional because it was inteded to advance a particular religion within public schools.
