The real miracle is the play itself. Using these three actors, writer/director Colin Cox's fast paced script runs though almost a century of American history, with an intensity that grabs you by the throat - and never lets go; think Howard Hawks and Ben Hecht on speed. What could be a horribly didactic, preachy story becomes an often funny, often moving and always intensely fascinating story.

How you feel about religion or politics or anything else is immaterial. This is great theater and you will be a better person for seeing it.

Writer/director Colin Cox does a brilliant job of making the life of former Episcopal Bishop John Shelby Spong into exciting theatre.

Cox infuses the play with vitality, suspense and impeccable timing and stagecraft. Vania Ouzonova has created full costumes that do more than hint at the many characters played by Stern and Peebler, despite the incredibly quick changes required by the show's pace.
