AMERICAN VOICES
The second in a series of One Person Shows presented by Will & Company, "American Voices" stretches the issue of diversity to examine socio-economics, eating disorders, religion and sexual orientation.
"American Voices" was written from the suggestions and interviews of Americans across the country.
In this 65 minute live play, you will hear the voices of:
- A Latino and his perspective of immigration
- An Arab American explaining her choice to ‘cover-up’
- An Asian American pleading to be released from ‘model minority status
and the ‘college girl’s disease" of anorexia/bulimia
that it has invoked
- An African American on death row trying to make clear the injustices
of the American legal system
- A Gay American questions whether or not he can be a Christian
- A Deaf American shows deafness as a culture and not a handicap
